A man who worked for one of my colleagues always showed in a shirt and tie with a simple explanation: if you look business, you is business. There are a lot of cheap shots taken at todays youth, questioning their work ethic and their intelligence. I have more faith than that in young folks. Frankly, everyone who is my age needs to have more faith in you than that for obvious reasons. I want them to succeed, which makes the following useful information. If youre among the job-seekers, clip this article. If youre the parent of one, do the same thing. Make several copies. Put one in your wallet. Tape another to refrigerator. Jesus Christ: The Ultimate Gift

Every year during Christmas, the world is reminded of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. On Christmas day, we exchange gifts in celebration of Christs birth. In addition to laying down His life for our sins, are there other gifts Jesus gave to mankind? Through the precious sacrifice of His life, three extraordinary gifts were set in motion: Jesus became our Mediator between God and Man, the Holy Spirit began dwelling in the believers of Christ, and Jesus gave us the authority to use His name. But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises (Hebrews 8:6). Christ said in the Gospel of John that He is the only way; no man can go to the Father except through Him. A mediator is the middle person mediating between two other persons who are at enmity with each other. During the Old Covenant, ordinances had to be followed in order for the high priest to come into the presence of God. Under the New Covenant, Jesus became our mediator to God. The necessity of Jesus mediating on our behalf is explained very clearly in Hebrews, Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them (Hebrew 7:25). After the death of Christ, we no longer needed those ritualistic ordinances of the Old Testament. Jesus is the Everlasting High Priest who mediates with God on our behalf. Only through the atonement of His blood, can salvation be gained. One of the most important gifts given after the death of Jesus Christ is the gift of Holy Spirit. Before ascending into Heaven, Jesus commanded His disciples not to leave Jerusalem until they received the Promise of the Father, But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts1:8). The outpouring of this precious gift, recorded in Acts Chapter 2, is known as the Day of Pentecost. Immediately after the Apostles received the Holy Spirit, they were given the ability to speak in tongues and prophesy. When instructing Christians not to defile the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit, Apostle Paul posed a rhetorical question to the followers of Jesus, Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own 1st Cor. 6:19. The Holy Spirit dwells within Christians. According to the Dictionary of the Bible, The Holy Spirit is God, a Person within the Godheadbut above all it is the Spirit that reproduces in man the moral character of Godthough the Spirit is still an influence rather than a personality. For this reason, Christians must not give into sin, let alone sins (e.g., fornication and adultery) that are against your temple (body) because it is possible to grieve the Holy Spirit who dwells in us (Ephesians 4:30). After His amazing triumph over death, Jesus told His Apostles, Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19). Be it praying, rebuking, or casting out evil spirits, the name of Jesus is the authoritative tool during spiritual warfare. Im sure you have heard, there is power in the name of Jesus. In my opinion, one should always remember to call on Him during a time of trouble, for Acts 4:12 unequivocally states, And there is salvation in and through no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by and in which we must be saved. The A.C.L.U. and other organizations have taken great strides to rid our society of Christmas, rip every visage of Jesus and the Bible. It makes one realize that there is something about the name of Jesus that elicits a reaction. Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2: 9-11). Though it may appear that the A.C.L.U and other organizations are succeeding in their immoral mission, but the bottom line is that one day in the futureevery single person will have to bow at the name of Jesus. Jesus, our Mediator, died and rose from the dead; His Father sent the Holy Spirit unto His followers; and Jesus name, the name above all names, gives us the ability to stand against the raging storms of life. Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. (John 8:12) During Christmas, please remember the gifts given through the death of Christ. Its foaming qualities mean that it is present in 90% of products such as shampoos, toothpastes and body washes. It is a very harsh detergent, which can irritate the skin, leading to skin rashes, flaking, hair loss and mouth ulceration. Whereas we would never dream of eating these chemicals, we dont give cosmetics more than a second thought. Particularly as anything that is put onto the skin is also partly absorbed and finds its way into the bloodstream. Once there the body has to deal with these synthetic chemicals. Many beauty products also contain paraffin, which is a petroleum by-product, a mineral oil that coats the skin like plastic. Baby oil is at least 93% mineral oil. It clogs the pores and interferes with the skins ability to eliminate toxins. To lock in moisture is not necessarily what our babies need because, like the kidneys, the skin is an important organ of elimination. To stay healthy we need to eliminate toxins and waste products. Mineral oils, which slow down skin function and cell development can lead to premature ageing, acne and other skin disorders. Cosmetics commonly contain moisturisers in the form of wetting agents (propylene glycol) and humectants (glycerine). Propylene glycol is the main ingredient in antifreeze and break fluid. It increases the skins permeability thus allowing some of the toxic compounds to be absorbed into the body. Liquid foundations often contain a variety of Parabens (methyl-, propyl- or butylparaben). They inhibit microbial growth and extend product shelf lives. They are not only highly toxic but also oestrogen-mimics. The most dangerous cosmetics are the ones, which have a pearly, glittery or frosted effect. Pure aluminium is used to achieve this effect. Aluminium is also used in creams, lotions and deodorants. How do we know which ingredients are safe and which arent? This is at the root of their sometimes erratic and impossible behavior which will continue to throw men off until they understand their relationship to the root of these behavioral characteristics. To Love Like Jesus

That there's just too little of Yes, the world definitely could use more love. But many people are confused about what love really is. Some think it is an emotion or a feeling. Some confuse the desire to possess another persons affections as love when in fact it is lust. Love is an action word that God clearly defined in I Corinthians. 13:4-8a and I John 4:7-21. All the attributes of love require the lover to give up of his or herself for the person that is being loved (See article About the History of the Christian Fish Symbol, Nov-Dec. 06). As explained by the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Philippians, Jesus provides the primary example of what it means to love. Paul encouraged the Philippians to live in unity by using what they received from Gods love, to apply it in their relationships with each other, to have brotherly love and to be one in spirit and purpose (Philippians 2:1-2). This letter is a great commentary for how Christian should live in the world today. The main scripture for this Bible Study Article is Philippians 2:1-16 the New International Version of the Bible (NIV). As Jesus taught, He also lived. (Philippians 2:3 NIV) Two key concepts from this verse are (1) do not act out of selfish ambition, and (2) consider others before yourself. This is what Jesus did. He put the welfare of others first by dying on the cross to save us. This is the model for living in love as further explained in Philippians 2: 5. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
6. Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7. but made himself nothing,taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
8. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death even death on a cross! (Philippians 2:5-8 NIV) Jesus put His love into action. It is seen in His teaching, His life and His attitude by: taking the very nature of a servant

became obedient unto death (v. 7-8) Let us look at each of these three (servant, humbled, obedient) in more detail to see how to love like Jesus. The Very Nature of a Servant A true servant is concerned only about the people she serves. Websters dictionary defines servant as a person working in the service of another (dictionary.com). The Strongs Concordance tells us that the original Greek word for servant used by the Apostle Paul in this letter to the Philippians is Doulos (#1401) which means a slave devoted to another to the disregard of one's own interests (bible.crosswalk.com). Jesus told us who we should serve: Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (Matthew 4:10 KJV) God has given each of us an assignment to serve Him as Ambassadors for Christ (II Corinthians. 5:11-21). That means walk like Jesus, love like Jesus and tell people about Jesus. Each of us should to be a walking billboard for Gods love. He Humbled Himself We should not confuse being humble with being humiliated. They are not the same. To be humble is a choice we make for ourselves. It means having a modest opinion of oneself. Certainly, whether we have great abilities or not, we should be humble in the sight of God, the creator of the world. You rescue the humble, but you humiliate the proud. (Psalm 18:27) To be humiliated is to be brought low by someone other than ourselves, generally against our will. It could involve being disgraced or losing ones dignity. The person who is likely to be humiliated is the one full of pride that refuses to humble him or herself. God loves the humble of heart. A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. (Proverbs 29:23 KJV) The problem with not being humble is that a person full of pride cannot hear what God is saying because his own noise is too loud. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. (Psalm 25:9 NIV) But a person who is quiet in the spirit is ready to hear what God says and ready to act on what God says. The humble person is ready to serve because he has given up of himself for the purposes of God. Obedient unto Death If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands. (John 14:15 AMP) Continuing with the theme of To Love Is To Give, we can substitute in the Bible verse above and God is saying If you give up of yourself then you will obey me. Obedience is not far-fetched if one is first willing to be a servant and second is humble. Obedience should naturally follow. When we are obedient then we can accomplish much for the Kingdom of God because God can trust us, equip us and lead us. God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. (1 Peter 5:5 KJV) Jesus obedience caused Him to die on the cross. Because of His love for God the Father and for us, He was willing to give up His life as a sacrifice for us all so that we could live. If you keep My commandments [if you continue to obey My instructions], you will abide in My love and live on in it, just as I have obeyed My Father's commandments and live on in His love. (John 15:10 AMP) Lets recap what has been said so far: first, a willingness to be a servant means putting ones own interest aside, a giving up of oneself; second, to be humble is to put oneself below God, ready (and able) to hear from Him; and third, to be obedient is the result if we are truly humble and ready to serve if we have truly given up of ourselves. Conclusion How Do We Get There? Continuing with our main scripture of Philippians 2 from the NIV we are told that it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose (v. 13). God needs to work on us from the inside. Lets look at the same scripture from the Amplified Bible: [Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight. (Philippians 2:13 AMP) The words in you are used twice in the above scripture to show that God wants to work on each of us from the inside. God cant work on us from the inside unless we accept Jesus as our Lord. Then, God in the person of the Holy Spirit can come and make his home inside of us (John 14:23) opening the door for Him to work in each of us to begin to give of ourselves. Further, we are told, Do everything without complaining or arguing (v14). This is a practice that is foreign to the world as many people sit around complaining, gossiping and slandering others as a way of life. But as Christians we have to step away from this and other sinful practices. If we complain a lot (or murmur), then we certainly are not submitted servants, we are not being humble and we are not in true obedience. Murmuring and complaining is the fruit of an unhappy and disgruntled person not a truly humble servant. It was also one of the sins that kept the Hebrews out of the Promised Land for 40 years (I Corinthians 1:5-10). Finally, we are to be blameless and pure in a crooked and depraved generation shin[ing] like stars (v15a). Jesus told us, if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. Why Stop Dreaming Because You've Met Mr. Dreamy

By Brooke Brimm Women today have privileges that we could not experience in the past. We are
entering universities and the workforce in record numbers. We are earning great
salaries, starting businesses, and obtaining dream careers. We are women and
wonderful, but some of us are women in waiting. We are waiting to meet Mr.
Wonderful and dreamy. We are waiting for the day to join with a great man, and to
be his woman. Do not get me wrong; it is great to have the title his woman. It feels good. It
is nice to be in love, theres nothing like it. However, you cannot give up who you
are to be in love. Chase your dreams, do what you love, keep studying, keep
working, and keep investing in yourself. Scores of women meet Mr. Wonderful and instantly surrender their dreams to
support his dreams. In exchange for this surrender she may expect him to make all
the right education, career, and financial decisions. There is no allowance for a bad
decision because the whole relationship, and possibly, the whole family is riding on
the mans dreams and decisions. My advice to every woman is to keep exploring
and working toward your dreams when you meet your Mr. Wonderful. As a woman, you have likes, dislikes, passions, and desires. Why should you
surrender those things completely to another? There will be times that you will have
to be flexible and creative in order to support your mans dreams and to keep yours
going. That is okay. Supporting your mans dreams is encouraged. Being flexible
about how you both can achieve your dreams is encouraged. However, surrendering
or deferring your dreams indefinitely is strongly discouraged. I recognize that once you meet your special guy you will probably bear his
children. I also recognize that you will probably be the primary caretaker of those
children. I further recognize that raising your children can rearrange your life plans.
However, it is important not to give up on your dreams and interests for your role as
wife and/or mother. Keep something special for yourself. This does not mean we
should neglect our children or discard the men we love. It means we should guard
our interests, dreams, and aspirations selfishly, and pursue them! Start by taking 15
minutes a day to pursue your dreams. Explain to your family that they must not
bother you during this time. Eventually you will build the amount of time you take
for yourself, and your family will become well accustomed to not disturbing your
time. It is not fair to a man for a woman to place all her hopes and dreams for
success on him. It is not fair to a woman for a man to insist that she submit or defer
her dreams to his. Think how exciting it could be if you decide from the beginning
how you both will live out your dreams and support each other during the process.
