These are typical annoyances for most people, however, the #1 way to keep me from doing business with you may not be. I personally have a very low threshold for people who waste my time. My time is precious, and if you are wasting it, you are done. Recently, I was looking for a particular hard-to-find product. Luckily, I found it on the internet and then went on to find a company that sold it dirt cheap. So I called this company to make sure they had it in stock. I was told by the customer service person that, yes, indeed, they did have the product and it would ship out within 24 hours. How exciting! Not only did I find it, but I could have it within 4 or 5 days if I paid more to have it shipped express, so I did. This was going to work out perfectly because we were leaving town for two months and I wouldnt have to deal with it from another state. Well, a whole week went by and the product was still not here. So, I sent the company an email asking when they shipped it. The email that I got back from them said that this item was discontinued and I would not be receiving it, but would I still like to pay for it? What??? I called to make sure they had it in stock and they said they did. So now they are saying they dont? How could that have happened? Why didnt they tell me it wouldnt be shipping? Wouldnt they have known within 24 hours if they wouldnt be shipping it? Thats what they said they would be shipping it within 24 hours. I called and talked with the customer service person and asked her all these questions. She admitted that she did not have access to tell me whether they had that product in stock. She lied to me. Boy, was I mad. First of all, they wasted a whole week of my time, and then they lied to me. Two strikes against them big strikes. The third strike came when they asked if I would still like to pay for it. Of course not!! I sent them an email telling them that I would not be doing business with that company any more and that its companies like theirs that make internet businesses look bad. Now, I realize that most people would not be pleased after going through an experience like this. My point here is that as a woman, a mother, a wife, a business owner, and in my home the event organizer, the nurse, the coach, the cleaning lady, the gardener, the bill-payer, the dish washer, the laundry lady, the shopper, the cook, etc., (you get the picture), I do not have time to be dealing with businesses who do not take care of their customers. I do not have time to deal with anyone who wastes my time. Period. I sometimes go to a great extent to make sure I am doing business with a company I can trust. They have to prove to me that they will help me get my jobs done on time. They have to help me save time, not waste it. They also have to be truthful and work out of integrity. This is so important. Now, I have been around people who give businesses second and third chances. They arent as intense about timeliness, integrity, and truthfulness as I am. As a woman, thats how I am. I have a whole list of things I need to get done every day and I dont have the time or the patience to horse around. My granny was also fat and my mum as well, it is just in our genes being chubby. Does not that sound familiar? But did you ever really tried to think deeper about your own problem? Media are full of news on how this and other scientist discovered a gene sequence that is responsible for causing excessive fat accumulation in body. For some this sounds as the final confirmation of their own assumption it must be in our blood. We can agree that accepting ones weight as a fact, as something which has nothing to do with us but more with our destiny, is the easiest way to stop thinking on healthy life style. There it is and it seems you can not do anything against it. Nobody wants to disagree with propeller head scientists on discovering genes that are influencing our biology, and yes, our fat accumulation as well. If we want to move ahead with our life, to improve the quality of our living, we have to take full responsibility for our future. You have to take responsibility to do something against that fatty tissue and fight those cellulite spots on your body. That fat did not come there because your granny had blue eyes! They came there because you were eating too much of wrong food and doing no exercise at all. Some (especially women) will protest loudly against upper statement. The Differences Between a Summons, Misdemeanor, and Felony Charge

If you have been following my articles, you know by now that I write exclusively about articles concerning altercations with police officers, stops by the police, or anything concerning law enforcement. What I would like to speak about now are charges levied against you by a law enforcement officer. First, keep in mind that an officers' charge against you is simple based on his perceptions of the events that has taken place. He based these facts on either what he has observed, or what he was told. His charge is NOT a fact. It's simply his or her perception of the events. So therefore, if you alleged that you are innocent, that could very well be true. But don't try to defend yourself at that time? That's a decision made by a judge at a later date, called your court date. Therefore, do not attempt to argue your case with the officer. You will lose. Wait for your court date. Now, lets start with a summons. A summons is simply a document you sign promising to appear before a judge on a given date. Take my word, whatever you done is not very serious. It's usually administered when it's involving domestic arguments, neighbors arguing, etc. Whatever the outcome in court, you have a 99.9% chance of going home that evening. Matter of fact, when I was a police officer, I cannot remember one time a defendant was placed in jail on a summons. Now on a misdemeanor, you could be placed under arrest. It's a charge a little more serious than a summons, with possible jail time or community service for one year or less. In some cases, you will have been arrested, stayed in jail one to five days (depending on if you made bond ), appeared before a judge, and if found guily, released on the time you've serve ( one to to five days is common ). If found innocent, You will still go home, but you stilled lost a couple of days of your life. Maybe your accuser is placed in jail, or at the very least, they will be fined. Now on felonies, thats a different ballgame. It's a crime that you could received up to one year and one day or more. In other words, at least one day over a year. It's very serious. You could still be freed, but it depends on a number on things. It depends on your prior arrests, times between arrests, number of times arrested, the severity of the existing felony charge, and many other variables. You could still beat the charge, but most of these kinds of charges requires an attorney. Don't ever decide to defend yourself on a felony charge. It's to complex, so don't gamble with your life. In passing near this comet, Stardusts aerogel collectors swept up material being ejected from the comet and brought it back to Earth. It is the most adventurous treasure hunt our species has ever conducted a 2.9 billion-mile odyssey to gather a most impressive treasure. Wild 2 is interesting because until recently it lived in the Kuiper Belt, a vast assemblage of comets orbiting way beyond Pluto, so far from our sun that almost no heat reaches them. In the icy recesses of the Kuiper Belt comets do little more than drift lazily about the sun no long tails stream behind them, carrying away their surface material, erasing the telltale clues to their origins. Astronomers believe that Kuiper Belt comets are perfectly preserved fossils from the early days of our solar system silent, unreachable eyewitnesses to the birth of our cosmic home. Because the Kuiper Belt is so far away, visiting it is out of the question. But Comet Wild 2 got pulled by Jupiters gravity into a much closer orbit, essentially inviting us to meet it halfway, which NASA was only too willing to do. And, because Wild 2 had only been in our neighborhood for a short time, the increased heat from the sun had not had time to melt or otherwise disturb its primordial surface. The rocks embedded in Stardusts aerogel may have a truly interesting story to tell our story of how our solar system came to be. How did our planet get so rich in chemicals, from carbon to uranium, when these are astonishingly rare in our universe, making up a tiny fraction of its matter? Where did the building blocks of life on Earth come from? What kind of star exploded in this part of the Milky Way billions of years ago, creating the disc of interstellar material out of which our solar system formed? Why is there so much life-sustaining water on the Earth? Missions like Stardust generally return little more than information for the billions of dollars it costs to run them. And those billions come from U.S. taxpayers. But surely they are worth every penny if they help us create the rich story of our origins. Scientists believe, for good reasons, that all the varied atoms in our bodies were once inside a star. These atoms were fused from hydrogen that dates from the beginning of the universe. The star exploded, spreading these atoms across a great region of space in a gigantic cloud. Gravity pulled them into larger clumps a central sun, planets, comets, moons, asteroids. And on one of the balls that gravity made a special place called Earth life appeared. If we can spend millions of dollars on government reports trying to piece together the story of what happened at Whitewater, or who knew what before Sept. 11, then surely we can spend a few times that on our own grander story.
