Planning To Work Abroad

By Rhiannon Williamson Working abroad can be an exciting, rewarding and horizon broadening experience; and if you take the time to plan ahead carefully before you go, you will make your transition into the overseas work place a smooth and successful one. So, if youre considering relocating overseas to take up a temporary assignment or youd like to move abroad permanently and find work there are basically three main aspects of expatriation that you need to think about before you make your move and this article examines them for you. 1) Location Unless youre being relocated by your employer to a fixed location you will quickly discover that it's a big wide world and you therefore have a great deal of choice when considering which country best suits your lifestyle and employment requirements. In an effort to narrow down your search a little consider any country youre interested in in view of the following considerations: - i) The locations distance from your home country and your family and friends remember that there will be times you want or need to return home and/or to catch up with old faces. How easy and affordable will it be for you to go back home should the need arise and how simple will it be for your friends and family to come and visit you? ii) The weather some countries are more or less hospitable in weather terms and someone who originally heralds from Tropical North Queensland may find it a struggle to cope with the wet, grey winters in England for instance and someone from Canada may find is a shock coping with the searing summer temperatures in Spain. Thinking about your ideal overseas location from a weather perspective may well cut down your choices! iii) Your family particularly if youre expatriating with children youll need to think carefully about the healthcare and education facilities available overseas and also about getting your essential insurances in place before you go. Some countries are more expensive and restrictive than othersbear this in mind. iv) Language barriers if youre considering moving to a country where the mother tongue is other than your own will this restrict your employment prospects? Can you overcome this by learning the language before you go or do you need to reconsider your destination? 2) Employment Are you a professional in a given industry or do you have a flexible skill set that will allow you to seek work in many different sectors? Do your qualifications translate favourably and transfer directly overseas? What sectors would you like to work in, in which countries can you find work in a profession that suits you? These are all questions you have to consider carefully. Next, if youre moving overseas permanently you need to be practical and realistic and consider the long term employment prospects for you, your spouse and any other family members accompanying youif you can find employment today how easy will it be to change employer or advance your career later in life? You should then examine your desired location carefully and determine whether or not you need work permits, residency visas and permission to work and live abroad, if so you should get the ball rolling and apply as soon as possible in case of any paperwork and administrative delays. Also consider the taxation and financial aspects of working abroadremember that if youre moving to a low cost country the economy will likely pay lower wages than youre used to, will these be sufficient to sustain your ideal lifestyle? 3) Accommodation Last but not least is the thought of finding somewhere to live abroad. By now youll have a clear favourite in the location stakes but now you need to examine the property market and whether its easy and affordable to rent accommodation when you first arrive and whether, long term, its possible for foreign residents to purchase freehold property abroad. If youre planning on moving abroad permanently youll also need to think about moving your household belongings and personal effects with you, and what about transporting your pets overseas too? There are many relocation companies who specialise in relocating individuals and families abroad, these companies have a fantastic skills base to assist you with every single aspect of the process. If on the other hand youre on a budget or looking to work abroad for a shorter period of time use the internet to find forums and information sites dedicated to expats, working abroad and the particular countries youre interested in and youll quickly be amazed at the wealth of invaluable information out there. Nurses Enhance Therapists' Occupations

By Leslie Harracksingh In general these are Registered Nurses from two distinct groups: those who have between 5 to 10 years of experience after their graduation and professional certification, and those who have retired. Retired Registered Nurses are starting a new, second career in an occupation where they already have basic knowledge, and in most cases, require only short and basic training or education. The other group of Registered Nurses, who are still working, are concerned with the question of a possible surplus of Registered Nurses who will not be able to find employment, or alternately, that as a result of the global village, employees from low-income countries are preferred over local higher-paid employees. Maybe the answer lies with a combination of the two situations. The direct beneficiaries of this situation are the Therapists' professions (including, but not limited to acupuncture, massage therapy, aroma therapy and respiratory therapy). The increased entry of highly-educated and trained Medical and Paramedical Professionals into the various Therapists' occupations upgrades these occupations and the status of the therapists. In previous years a great many therapists in many countries were practicing in a non-regulated environment. This enabled many people who would otherwise have been unemployed, to practice in easily-accessible occupations. Schools and academies for various Alternative Therapies or Holistic Therapies only managed to produce an entire generation of poorly educated and trained professionals. Almost daily, a new therapy based on a concept that was never checked scientifically popped up, jeopardizing the status of many excellent highly trained and educated therapists, who provided excellent service and treatments to their clients. It is only in the last decade that many countries have begun regulating the vast number of therapies, and conducting a through review of the standards under which all therapists should practice and be trained. The current movement of Registered Nurses into these occupations will contribute to the upgrading of the standards and the reputation of the therapists and therapies in the public eye, and consequentially, in the insurance market as well. The better the education of the practitioner, the stricter the regulations are, the lower the premiums can go. This is definitely a win-win situation, where everybody benefits from this trend. We, as insurance providers, need to follow this trend, and respond to the development of the therapeutic occupations with more relevant and better adjusted Professional and Public Liability insurance products, Malpractice Insurance E&O (Errors and Omissions) coverage, and fair premium charges. Leslie Harracksingh is the Medical Occupations Customer Service Officer at Sinclair Insurance Company Sinclair offers therapists and nurses public and professional liability insurance coverage including malpractice and errors and omissions. Floribunda Roses - All You Need To Know

By Mike Singh Floribunda roses are some of the most amazing out there because of the large, dense amounts of buds that are produced. These roses will have simultaneously occurring blooms in each truss. They are less perfect looking roses but are so dense in their production that they can truly make a statement in virtually any landscape especially when planted together. Here are some facts to know about the Floribunda roses. Whats The Difference? Few of these roses are scented and their shape is not always of the perfect rose. But, they make up for this quality when you take into consideration the all summer long blooming of rich colors and beautifully dense foliage that they provide. Easy To Grow? Although the Floribunda rose is a rose, which tend to be difficult plants to grow, they are less of a problem to many. They are more tolerant to conditions and the environment and also continue to produce blooms over and over again. They are easier to grow only because they can take more punishment, so to speak. Where Can I Plant Them? Floribunda roses can be planted in any open but not vulnerable location. They enjoy the sun and varieties are available for different amounts of sunlight as well. They can and should be planted as bare roots from the months of November to March in most climates. This is much less expensive as well. Trim Those Roots! Before you plant them, make sure to prune back the roots to allow for new root growth to take place. This can make a large difference in the quality of these roses. Feed Them? When they begin to grow in the spring, youll want to feed them with a rose fertilizer that can be commonly found. Do this monthly until the end of summer months. Which Ones Do I Go With? There are several varieties of the Floribunda rose. You can choose those that you enjoy and that will prosper in your environment. Some good choices include Rob Roy which is very deep red in color, Glenfiddisch which is a golden amber color with large flowers, and the Ballindallock Castle which is a salmon/coral color of blooms. Mike Singh is the successful webmaster and publisher of http://www.rose-gardening-made-ez.com. He provides more information about how to prune roses and rose diseases on this site. Another New Year, Another Resolution to Lose Weight?

By Alicia Ashley Most parents or schools never teach how to establish positive self-discipline unless youre a Green Beret. Thats why most diets fail. There's not a diet program around that teaches someone how to create an unshakeable foundation of self-discipline and motivation, the kind necessary to really stick with healthy eating and exercise long enough to see results. And sure, people are motivated on January 1st but they are not so motivated on March 1st. The Warrior program is based on the science of self-discipline and self-motivation. It is complex and creates results. A Warrior is someone who has the self-discipline and motivation necessary to go into battle and win. Everything they think about and do is about victory. Defeat is not an option. They realize what it will cost them if they do not focus all on their goal and strategize to win, no matter what. People world-wide who have tried diet after diet and been unsuccessful will learn how to establish this unshakeable foundation of self-discipline and motivation through online support, daily email communication and teleclasses offered through the Warrior Weight Loss Program. One of the first questions a new Warrior must answer is, What does being overweight cost me in my life? Too often the focus is on the deprivation of missing out on certain foods instead of focusing on the loss of life and vitality that eating too many of those foods brings. Its short-sited living. For most people being overweight costs them their self-respect, their health, higher wages, relationships, their joy in living and so much more, but they dont think about that as they take the next bite. Then new Warriors are taught how to focus on the joy of the reward not the pain of the deprivation. Dieting is so awful when you dont have some of the key Warrior components. Theres a lot of joy and satisfaction in walking away from ice cream or potato chips when you focus on the reward of a thinner body, instead of how much you miss their taste. New Warriors are also are taught to ask themselves at the end of each day, Who won today? The Warrior? Or the Enemies of Gluttony and Gratification? The more days a new Warrior stays focused on moderate eating and exercise the Warrior wins and the more weight they lose. The more a new Warrior overeats and doesnt exercise the Enemies win and the more weight they maintain or even continue to gain. The Warrior Weight Loss Program offers men and women a viable long-term solution to losing weight and maintaining it for the rest of their life that is not found in any diet book or pill its a simple solution called self-discipline and self-motivation. Alicia Ashley, M.A. is the Founder of the Warrior Weight Loss Program. She is a psychotherapist who has specialized in working with men and women who suffer from eating disorders and obesity. She personally uses all of the skills and techniques of the Warrior that she recommends to others in order to maintain her own healthy weight and active lifestyle. Alicia is a graduate of Pepperdine University where she received a B.A. in Psychology. She holds seminars and retreats for women on sexual self-worth, self-empowerment and health, in addition to weight loss and eating disorders. eBiz Marketing: Coffee Rocks

By Jan Verhoeff I smell a marketing ploy. Yesterday when my mail arrived I opened up a gift from Chris Knight of www.ezinearticles.com, a munificent packet of Iced Gingerbread coffee in a mug that says I LOVE ezine articles with their website address on the cup (lest I forget). Merry Christmas! I feel so blessed, and so manipulated! You know, when I post an article online, I'm going to go first to the address I see every day on my coffee mug. It's a given! So, for a great mug of Iced Gingerbread Coffee - you first put the coffee on to brew. Then fill your cup with about a forth cup of milk and nuke it in the microwave about a minute, froth it with the 'cup blender' (I love this gadget!) and add a bit of sugar. I like a whole teaspoon in mine. Pour the coffee slowly down the inside of the cup and sprinkle on cinnamon and sugar. You've got a tasty cup of wonderful coffee, and a great cup to sip it from! And if you published more than 20 articles on Ezinearticles last year, it was a gift! This recipe is a gift of gratitude from the Coffee Clatter at http://coffeeclatter.blogspot.com (Another marketing ploy you are welcome to confiscate and use). Impact your market as never before. Outdoor Furniture-Teak: Understanding Teak

By Robert Von Voigt Before you invest in teak outdoor furniture, you should invest some time in understanding where it comes from and how to make an informed purchase decision. Tectona grandis is a deciduous (annual) hardwood tree indigenous to the dry, hilly terrains of Southeast Asia and Indonesia. It is extremely dense-grained and highly resistant to decay, warping, shrinkage and swelling. These characteristics make teak patio furniture extremely durable. Teak has a high natural oil content which acts as a natural preservative, allowing furniture made from this wood to be left outdoors for decades. How durable is teak? Early sailing ships were often made from teak, which were impervious to a maritime environment (salt water, rain, high winds). In fact, the many of the first outdoor teak benches were made of recycled decking from old sailing ships. Public parks in England boast recycled teak benches many of which are nearly centuries old, as England had one of the first modern navy. Teak wood ages gracefullykind of like Sofia Loren or Paul Newman. If left to the elements, teak develops a silver grayish coloring which, over time can be left as is or revived to its original patina by lighting sanding and the application of a little teak oil. Many people prefer machine made furniture. Teak furniture manufacturing in Indonesia is generally placed in one of three categories: handmade, semi-machine made, or fully machine made. Contrary to popular belief, the words "handmade" and "furniture" do not go well together when it comes to teak outdoor furniture. Handmade means just that: handmade. An Indonesian teak factory that makes manufacters handmade furniture looks an awful lot like a rural village with "artisians" sitting around in their yards whittling. This may look good in those home-made vacation videos or as neighborhood barbeque conversation, but home made means less than perfect furniture. Handmade teak furniture may feature "character" or "unique detailing" but no two will look precisely alike. Handmade teak is probably the cheapest that money can buy, since Southeast Asia boasts some of the cheapest labor around. Semi-machine made furniture is produced using power tools in a factory. Cuts and bores are more precise although pieces are ultimately fitted by hand. A skilled and experienced furniture maker, with the proper training and experience can produce very legitimate semi-machine products with a higher degree of uniformity than handmade. Of course, semi-machine made furniture is more expensive to produce than handmade furniture but is almost always worth the difference. Full machine factories exclusively use power equipment, tooling, dies and processes intended to take the guess work out of the manufacturing process. Two exact pieces of teak furniture made from a full machine factory will be indistinguishable from one another and looks more "expensive". Choosing the Right Fly Fishing Rod

By Tyler Casselman Choosing a good rod is a major decision for the fly fishing angler.
Shopping for that new rod can also be allot of fun. But how do we know what the right rod is? Here are some tips to help you make your purchasing decisions. Fly rods are about the action, casting speeds, weights, and many more factors. You generally want a soft or slow casting rod. Softer is often better because the line will land in the water with less impact. The faster your rod is the harder the impact. You need to purchase a rod that suits the type of fishing you do. If your into bass fishing you will need a strong rod and one that's longer. Fishing for more active fish will generally require a much stronger and longer rod. Shorter rods are great when your around trees and objects. You need a much shorter length in order to avoid getting caught in objects. If you like to fish where there is lots of action and rough waters your going to need something that is much heavier. This will provide a much faster casting speed. The only problem with this is that its not beginner friendly. If your new to fishing start by fishing for small fish in a calm environment. These are just some beginner tips for choosing the right rod. Remember to ask the stores sales person when buying your rod. If you plan on buying one online most stores have guides to help you with your decision. Don't be afraid to email them with a question either. Most online stores will be happy to respond. Whirligig Pleasure

By Lindsey Williams Likely you have smiled many times at whirligigs as you drove past them in someones yard -- without knowing you were admiring a 10,000-year-old folk-art form. Hitch weather vanes to windmills and you get whirligigs an ancient device whose only purpose is to delight onlookers. Though once widely popular, whirligigs have declined in popularity except for those young in heart. A few local fans keep the historic devices alive. Every civilization dependent on the weather for farming or seafaring invented the simple pointer that indicates wind direction. Representations are found in Samaria, Egypt and China. We still rely on them. Windmills canted blades attached to a hub turn wheels that grind grain, pump water or generate electricity are almost as old as weather vanes. The genius that melded weather vanes and windmills is long forgotten, but not his/her legacy. Medieval European tapestries show children playing with small whirligigs of a hobbyhorse on one end of a stick and 4-bladed propellers at the other end. This was a time of chivalry and knights on horses wielding lances and swords to rescue maidens in distress. The 1440 edition of the Oxford English Dictionary defined whyrlegyge as any spinning toy. In the late 1700s of colonial America, human figures waving their arms -- holding swords, shovels, pitchforks and other implements were popular. When George Washington rode home to Mt. Vernon after the Revolutionary War he brought in his saddlebags whilagigs for Marthas grandchildren. Washington Irving in his 1820 Legend of Sleepy Hollow wrote of a little wooden warrior who, armed with a sword in each hand, was most valiantly fighting the wind on the pinnacle of the barn. In the late 1800s, popular whirligigs portrayed Indians paddling canoes, birds with flailing wings, men sawing wood and women scrubbing clothes in a washtub. First settlers on the south shore of the Peace River roadstead of Charlotte Harbor was Fred and Anna Howard in 1875. The following year they were joined by Freds brother Jarvis and his family. Jarvis kept a diary and related their first Christmas together in 1876. Among the gifts exchanged was a whirligig from Fred and Anna to the Jarvis family. Size and design of the contraption was not stated. Whirligigs experienced a renaissance during the Great Depression of the 1930s. Men out or work could make whirligigs with scrap lumber and sell them from their front yards for one dollar. This would feed a family of four for a day. (I know.) Interestingly, whirligigs sold well. They were relatively inexpensive and boosted spirits when times were grim. A favorite toy during the depression was the pin-wheel -- basic whirligig. Dime stores sold them for ten cents, of course. They were constructed of a square of colorful celluloid the first plastic the points of which were split, bent together and nailed to a stick. You created wind to spin the whirligig by running or holding it out a car window. A beautiful, triple-tier pin-wheel whirligig --with multi-colored, counter-rotating vanes -- grace a yard across the street from the Punta Gorda Isles Yacht Club. The most spectacular whirligig in southwest Florida is about ten feet tall in Punta Gorda. It spins merrily at the western end of Olympia Avenue near the Visual Arts Center and Fishermens Village. Its vertical and horizontal blades of polished and crimson stainless steel was created -- and is maintained -- by Stephen Schwarz, a member of the Visual Arts Center. He has several more such works of art at his home. Traditional whirligigs are crafted by hobbyists like Gerry Philbrick of Punta Gorda Isles. He fancies traditional designs such as flying cardinals and little men sawing wood energetically in a breeze. Many history and art museums feature whirligig collections. Private craftsmen create whirligig gardens for fun and profit. Roadside craft vendors offer a wide variety of whirligigs for sale. The best vendor in these parts is Chris Kringle Williams the Toy Maker at Fort Ogden on S.R. 17 between Punta Gorda and Arcadia. His Santas workshop is set back from the highway but easily visible. He and his wife Delores preside over a salesroom of thousands of handcrafted novelties in a historic general-store building. Craftsmen or craftswomen will find a book by Anders Lunde interesting and instructive. Whirligigs Design & Construction (Chilton Book Company, Radnor, Pa.) can be ordered from any bookstore. Lunde is credited with reviving the whirligig a quarter-century ago. A well-known painter and wood sculptor, Lunde won First Prize in a sculpture at the1981 Durham (North Carolina) Art Guild Juried Exhibition. He received two awards for his whirligigs at the 1983 Juried Exhibition of North Carolina Crafts. His book contains easy-to-follow instructions and patterns for constructing whirligigs from pinwheels to elaborate groupings of several animated figures. CAUTION: exposure to whirligigs could entrance you. Let's Create Sultry Smoky Eyes

By Kim Snyder They say there is nothing sexier than a pair of sultry smoky eyes, smoky eyes done so right that they can cause a man to stop dead in his tracks. But - do you know how to create such a perfect set of smoky eyes?
What you need to get started:
Eye Primer
Loose powder
Dark Eyeshadow
Medium - grey eyeshadow
Black Mascara
Magic Lash Eyelash Enhancer Now the idea is to be able have smoky eyes, yet not look so much like you forgot to take your eye makeup
off last night. Even though, that has been known as a turn on for a quite lot of men makes them wonder what you been up. To start creating the look you must have a base for it. This helps to keep the color in one place. Smooth on a eyeshadow primer, some say foundation is good to use as long as its color doesn't take away from what you are
trying to achieve. Now pat on loose powder setting the base. The real secret to the smoky look is in the color eyeshadow you use. Tips: If your eyes are blue and you're blond, then go for greens
instead, the darker the better. If your eyes are green then go for blues again the darkest shades of blues you like. If your eyes are brown then you are just plain lucky with your choices of colors. Brown eyed ladies can try any colors you like. Now purple eyeshadow is a color that everyone can try. Just try it in Plum,
Berry and others like those. Rim your eyes with a black or grey pencil drawing a line along both upper and lower lash line. Starting from inner corner of your eyes going outward starting a fine line going into
a heavier line as you draw outwards the outer corner. If black or grey seems too harsh for the look you're going
for, then try either dark brown, plum or taupe instead. Apply a medium - grey eyeshadow all over your lids, stopping at the crease. Apply your dark eyeshadow into the crease, then take a angled brush and apply the dark eyeshadow onto the eyeliner
and then smudge it well with a cotton swab keeping as much of the color at the outer corner of your eyes. The angled
brush is great for getting eyeshadow up under your lashes on the bottom which in turn helps keep your eyeliner in place.
It's the smudging that has got to be done carefully. The idea is to blend the eyeshadow and eyeliner together. If you wanted a more "feline" aka cat eyes then using a liquid eyeliner would be best. Helping to contrast the darkness of your eyeshadow, sweep a pearlized ivory eyeshadow over your brow bones for a wide-eyed look. By applying a little at a time, you are building up the effort gradually till you like what you see.
Finishing off the look with one coat of black mascara, one coat of Magic Lash if you want super long, lush lashes to go along with this look, then one more coat of black mascara. Dark colors trend to make small eyes look even smaller, you can open them up by lining the rims from the
inner to the center with a light-colored pencil, rather than dark pencil, pat on pale eyeshadow on the
center of each lid. That should cause the small eyes to seem bigger. For the rest of this ideal look. Finish off by using a tawny blusher or a bronzing powder. Its
natural color won't complete with the rest of your makeup. Sweep it over your cheekbone, blending away
to the edges into your hairline.
Keeping your lips neutral gives this look its real impact. Go for a pinkish - beige shade of lip pencil
and smudge it over your entire mouth for a matte, I justed been kissed yet very understated effect. Now your eyes
are ready for whatever you might have planned. This look can be toned down for work but who would want to? 10 Skin-Care Tips: Look Stunning in Your 40s

By Farrell Seah Stay Beautiful in Your 40s Deeper wrinkles and reduced elasticity and firmness are the most common skin problems in this decade, as years of sun exposure and declining estrogen take their toll. As you age, decreasing estrogen levels influence the production of other substances in your body. For example, the amount of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring chemical that helps keep skin firm, begins to decline, affecting your skin's ability to retain moisture. Oil production also slows down, reducing natural lubrication. To help counteract these changes, use creams that contain humectants (like glycerin, citric acid, propylene glycol, urea, and phospholipids) and emollients (such as petrolatum, shea butter, and cetyl alcohol) to seal in moisture. Skin Care Tips 1. Amp up your regimen. Look for cleansers and toners with more moisturizing capacity. Exfoliate more often. 2. Check your eyes. The skin around your eyes is thinner and may develop more obvious lines, discoloration or puffiness. Use specialized spot treatments for the eye area. 3. Choose multi-tasking makeup. Many modern cosmetics gently treat as they cover. Use those especially designed for aging or damaged skin. Caution: Hold back on coloration as heavy makeup can make imperfections more glaring. 4. Pour on some body love. Indulge your body to improve your mood and alleviate the discomforts of hot flashes and night sweats. Use shower gels and lotions liberally. 5. Practice a regular cleansing routine. Cleanse, exfoliate, tone and moisturizethis daily routine should carry you on your way toward healthier skin. Select a gentle skin cleansing solution that works for your specific type of skin - dry, oily, normal. Using your selected product, cleanse face in a circular motion and rinse with lukewarm water, as hot water zaps skin's moisture. 6. Daily use of sunscreen products with at least an SPF of 15 and antioxidants along with protective clothing such as full-brimmed hats, long sleeved blouses and shirts, and slacks instead of shorts will greatly reduce the aging of the skin and the possibility of skin cancer. 7. Facial skin care should also be of concern and sunglasses should be worn while outside. This will protect the eyelids from aging and will help reduce crows feet by reducing the squinting which comes from sun exposure without eye protection. 8. Scaly patches of skin can be a disappointment if you are planning to bare your skin. These spots are 'eczema', which presents itself in a number of ways, including itching, rashes and thickened brown patches of skin. People who suffer from hay fever and other allergies may be at greater risk of developing eczema. Keep the affected areas well moisturized using a thick moisturizing cream. You can also try experimenting with a lotion containing AHAs to slough off the thickened skin. Avoid picking or scratching at the patches as this can lead to bleeding and scarring. Visit a dermatologist if the problem persists. 9. Frequent weight gains and losses can also dramatically affect the elasticity of the skin. When the weight is gained, the skin stretches to accommodate the excess weight. When a lot of weight is lost, quickly, the skin doesn't have time to accommodate the changing contours and sagging and premature wrinkling can occur. Gradual weight loss should not impact the skin, although a reduced calorie diet can cause the skin to look dull and lifeless unless the diet is well balanced. 10. Many studies have been done over the years demonstrating the healing and physiological properties of bovine colostrum. Colostrum helps the immune system to function more efficiently, maintain peak performance and fight acne causing bacteria. Colostrum supplies growth factors (hormones) as well as stimulating the endocrine system to keep producing its own supply of hormones. Research strongly indicates that the combination of growth and immune factors in colostrum works together to create a potent anti-aging effect, including tighter skin, and regrowth of cells and tissue of organs that normally decrease in size with age. Daily supplementation on Bovine Colostrum allows the body to have improved resilience against any type of stress. Overall health and well being is accomplished when the body has all of the necessary factors it needs for defense, healing and repair. If you have special skin issues, such as stubborn acne, rosacea, or extremely sensitive or oily skin, the best thing to do is to seek out the advice of a professional dermatologist. Pretty, healthy skin is well within your grasp, with a little bit of awareness, determination and persistence on your part. The results are definitely worth it. Live juicy and be happy with your largest organ! Note: None of the information in this article is scientifically based, but it does work, based on the personal experiences of myself and many others. Depression in the Elderly

By Milos Pesic Depression which is one of the most widespread conditions linked with suicide in older adults is commonly under-recognized and under-treated medical condition. In fact, some studies have found that many cases of depression in the elderly which resulted to suicide had about seventy-five percent of them visiting their primary care physician within a month of their suicide. However, not all depression in the elderly results in tragedies, but should always be given enough attention and treatment if diagnosed. Later in life, depression often coexists with other medical illnesses and disabilities. Additionally, advancing age is frequently accompanied by loss of key social support systems because of death of spouse or siblings, relocation of residence and/or retirement. Because of their change in situations and the fact that theyre anticipated to slow down, family and doctors may miss the analysis of depression in the elderly, resulting to delay in effective treatment, and many elderly people finding themselves having to handle the symptoms which could have been treated easily. Depression in the elderly tends to last longer and also increases the risk of death. Nursing home patients studies have shown that the occurrence of depression significantly increased the chances of death. It has also been linked to increased risk of death following a heart attack. For this reason, it is important to make sure that elderly people with depression even if mild, should be evaluated and treated. Depression in the elderly affects about six million Americans age sixty-five and older but only about ten percent receive treatment. This condition can trigger long-term illnesses that are common in later life such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, chronic lung cancer, cancer, arthritis, Parkinsons disease, and Alzheimers disease. Depression in the elderly has about fifty percent higher healthcare costs than non-depressed seniors. The risk factors of depression in the elderly include fear of death; recent bereavement; living alone or social isolation; certain medicines or combination of medicines; previous history of depression; past suicide attempt(s); family history of major depressive disorder; damage to body image such as amputation, cancer surgery, or heart attack; presence of chronic or severe pain; substance abuse; and other illnesses. There are some treatment options obtainable for depression. In a lot of cases, a combination of treatments such as antidepressant medicines, psychotherapy, and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), is most successful. There are other problems that affect treatment of depression in the elderly. The shame attached to mental illness and psychiatric treatment is even more overwhelming among elderly and is frequently shared by members of the patients family, neighbors, and friends and this stigma can keep elderly people from seeking treatment. Elderly people may also not be willing to take their medicines due to side effects or cost. Additionally, certain other illnesses at the same time as depression can hinder the effectiveness of antidepressant medicines. The National Institute of Mental Health considers depression in the elderly as a major public health problem. How To Lose Weight By Eating For Energy

By Nancy Hill Are you bewildered when intuitive eating guides tell you to eat when youre hungry and stop when youre full? It can be a difficult skill to relearn after years of dieting and/or bingeing. One entirely different way to eat the right amount for your body is to change the goal from "getting full of food" to "eating for energy". Food is fuel, but that sounds so sterile. A more exciting and empowering approach is to eat feel great. Eat until you feel light and full of energy. When you use this method, you don't even have to think about the amount of food in your stomach. When you sit down to eat; ask your body to let you know when it has had enough. Pay close attention with each bite. You will get a subtle, but clear, message to stop when your body has had enough. You may even think you're making it up. The message will often come after just a small amount of food. When you experiment by following your full signal and stop eating at that point, you will find yourself feeling light and energized. You may not even feel a difference in your stomach at all. Make it a practice to give your body just what it needsnot too muchnot too little. As you eat, ask yourself if you need more energy * Will you feel better, lighter, more energized if you eat this bite? * Will you feel comfortable and satisfied? * Or will you feel heavy, tired, too full? The body has amazing powers of self-regulation and will communicate its needs to you if you will listen. At first it may feel strange to eat this way. Over time though, you will find that * Your energy levels are soaring. * You are not getting sleepy after you eat. * You feel less fuzzy. * You feel more replenished by food. * Fresh, unprocessed foods become more and more appealing to you and make you feel better. * You are more creative. * You feel happier and more at peace with yourself. * Extra pounds have dropped away easily and effortlessly. In the beginning it may seem like paying so much attention to your hunger and energy takes a lot of time and attention. Just remember that the skills you're learning will set you free from obesity and diet craziness for the rest of your life. About The Author

Women's Hourglass Body Shape - Three Hot Tips To Lose Body Fat

By Robin Derry Gadgets, fast food, insufficient time away from family and work conspire to create many more "pear body shapes" than the womens' hourglass body shape adorning those womens' magazines we all see at the supermarket check-out stands. Breaking The Body Fat Cycle. How do you break the cycle of body fat bulges, where the flat tummy of youth becomes distended, rounded, and heavy with waist fat and cellulite? Are fat thighs, sagging breast and saddle bags a permanent condition for the rest of your life...or can you actually make significant body contouring changes so that you look better, more youthful and confident? Women's Hourglass Body Shape Tip #1 - High Tech Energy Treatment To Melt Body Fat. There's never been more overweight pear body shape men, women and kids as now in the 21st century. Despite the scare tactics and occasionally questionable science promoted by institutional "food police" such as the Center For Disease Control (claiming in 2005 originally that over 400,000 American deaths are attributable to obesity, when the subsequent revised figure turned out to be more like 29,000), science and body contouring technologies continue to emerge. * Harnessing "Light Energy" To Lose Body Fat. Both radio frequency and ultrasound transmitter devices have been modified for successful application as body shaping tools. The broad concept is that the light energy device can be kept cool as it moves across your outer skin surface, so no surface burns occur. Meanwhile, the RF or ultrasound energy can be concentrated to land below your skin (sub dermal), directly targeting only fat cells. A treatment area, such as thigh fat or arm fat, "heats up" with fat cells absorbing the light energy until the cell structure de-constructs. Meanwhile, nearby blood vessels and nerve fiber remain un-impacted due to their greater cellular complexity and density, with the result that this "light energy" is primarily reflected rather than absorbed. Women's Hourglass Body Shape Tip #2 - Ultrasound And RF Energy Treatments For Cellulite Too. For example, thigh fat or a fat butt in 90% of women also includes those impossible-to-treat "dimples" or cellulite deposits. What's happening is that excess fat builds up, and because of hormonal action and inferior blood supply to that area, fat cells slowly build-up a band of connective tissue. Result? These cellulite areas are literally tougher than ordinary fat deposits, even resisting traditional liposuction treatment. However, ultrasound and RF energy treatments show great promise in heating up these cells and then also de-naturing this connective tissue band, so that cellulite can be safely reduced. You lose body fat and cellulite, leaving you with smoother skin and a slimmer more attractive body shape. Women's Hourglass Body Shape Tip #3 - Gold Standard Cosmetic Surgery. Tried and proven cosmetic surgery is not only the most popular and convenient strategy for creating body contouring changes now, it's also increasingly safe from medical health risks due to increasingly sophisticated surgeon training and new technologies. Are you overweight, frustrated, needing to lose body fat deposits from a number of locations? If you're at this life crossroad, then carefully assessing your body and creating realistic ideal body shape goals with your surgeon has never been more realizable than now. Combining a lower body lift where surgical body shaping also include liposuction to lose weight in butt and thigh areas, or breast augmentation to correct a sagging breast shape, liposuction to reduce love handle fat deposits can literally remove many pounds of body fat plus reduce sagging loose skin. An improved womens hourglass body shape is possible for any women, young or old. Intimate or Grand - What Size Should Your Wedding Be?

By Lesley-Ann Graham It is a practice in most cultures for the groom to visit the parents of the bride and ask for their blessing; though in some cultures the couple just goes and announces their engagement and wedding plans. Usually, once the dust from the rounds of kissing and hugging die down, the mothers in particular will begin making suggestions about what must be done for your wedding and who must attend. This is wonderful. It is always great to have your families help and support. It can become a headache though when they keep saying that each relative will feel bad if you don't invite them when truth is you'd never even heard of Cousin Michael. A major consideration in any wedding is, how many guests will there be? Left to your family, they may want you to invite all your relatives, plus all your friends and some neighbors. They turn your nuptials into a reunion or a fiesta for everyone they know. Years later, you look at your wedding album and wonder, "who in the world were these people in the pictures?" One thing that will help you decide on how big your reception will be is your budget. The bigger your budget, the more guests you can have. Of course, the same is also true. You may actually prefer to keep the number of guests down so that you'll have more to spend on your trousseau. It can also help make your nuptials more solemn and memorable to have a more intimate union. Of course, there's always the choice to elope in case you really want the numbers almost nil. The bottom line is, it is your wedding and your special day. You should be surrounded by the people you love and choose to be present on this very special day. So talk it over as a couple and invite the people who mean the most to you to be present. How to Change People ... Whether They Want to or Not

By Jane Firbank How often have you wanted to change someones behaviour ... and found yourself nagging, pleading, shouting, complaining or just plain giving up, because nothing you do seems to work?

And if its a relationship youd like to improve ... how often have you heard people say, oh, thats not possible unless you BOTH want to change? Well, tell that to the advertising industry ... or your childs schoolteachers! Of course you can change peoples behaviour ... whether they want to change or not, and whether they know it, or not. After all, every dealing you have with someone influences to some extent how they feel about you and how theyre likely to behave with you next time they see you. So, you may just as well bring the process under some conscious control ... and heres how.

The first rule for changing the way someone behaves is blindingly obvious -- yet its easy to get so stressed you just dont see it. If whatever youre doing isnt working, then -- however reasonable, sensible, justified it may be -- stop doing it! Do something else. As they say, if you go on doing what you have been doing, then youll go on getting what you have been getting!

Im reminded of Brenda. Her problem was her almost-teen daughter. The music practice she wouldnt do. The room she wouldnt tidy. The house resounded to furious slanging matches, endless nagging -- all futile, except to make the daughter feel attacked and unloved, and the mother feel helpless, frustrated ... and unloved.
Stopping fighting, letting the room and the music take care of themselves, was the essential first step towards rebuilding a mother-daughter relationship which both could enjoy and value ... and in which change could take place.

Once youve stopped doing the wrong things, the right ways to create more productive, pleasant and life-enhancing relationships with the people in your life are really so simple.

* Reward. First, find some effective rewards. Whether its a smile or a compliment, a pay rise, a night out, a hug or a chocolate, rewards are things which make the person feel good -- not necessarily what you think they should want. The wrong reward could turn someone off. Say you praise someone in public, and that embarrasses them. Or your compliments a backhander, with blame for the fact they didnt do it before, and pointing out that they are now being good, under your control ... we all know those compliments, and resent them! They are certainly not rewarding.

Of course, you may ask, 'Why on earth should I reward someone for just doing what they should?' Forget shoulds and oughts. Its simple. You reward them because you want them to do it again.

* Be rewarding most of the time, then some of the time, then just occasionally. If youre too obviously rewarding, every single time, people may well suspect they are being manipulated! Plus, as soon as you stop rewarding every time, they may rather quickly stop doing what you want. Imagine, your new husband brings you flowers every weekend without fail. Then, one week, he misses. Has he fallen out of love? Met another woman? Whereas, if he just sometimes, at unpredictable intervals, turned up with roses, youd feel great when he did but he could miss out for a long time before you began to feel unappreciated.

* Having found some appropriate rewards, you apply them as quickly as possible whenever the behaviour moves, even a little bit, in the direction you want. You stay calm and pleasant but you dont give attention to what you dont want.

One of my patients found her mothers almost daily telephone calls, guilt-provoking and destructively critical, left her really shaken. A simple strategy made a huge difference. When her mother said anything neutral or pleasant, Julie would engage in the conversation and sound interested. As her mother started on Julies faults, or tried to settle down to an hours moan ... Julie sounded bored. If her mother went on regardless, Julie heard the doorbell or remembered an appointment after about a minute.

If youve seen those programmes where parents are taught how to deal with screaming toddlers, youll recognise this as the Little Angels or Nanny 911 technique of behaviour shaping. Rewarding the good, ignoring the bad, and time out -- ending the phone call -- if the bad continues. It works just as well with adults. It gently moved Julies mother towards talking more appropriately to her daughter and also helped Julie feel in charge. Her buttons were no longer being uncontrollably pushed. Instead of being immersed in the situation, she gained a feeling of distance and control. And ... just as those screaming toddlers look much happier once calm control is achieved ... so Julies mother also benefited as, for the first time, they began to achieve some pleasant and mutually rewarding phone chats. So dont feel bad about using these techniques!

* To stop behaviour you dont want, remember, if what someone does isnt noticed, appreciated, or rewarded, theyre likely to stop doing it. But if its the only way they have to get attention ... then ignoring it will just make them up the stakes. There MUST be an alternative, acceptable way to get attention and reward, which, after all, we all need. Chloes husband went in for days of silent sulking. I suggested that she simply live her own life when he sulked, instead of frantically coaxing him to say what was wrong and trying desperately to please him and get him to respond to her. But withdrawing attention when he sulked was only half the answer -- she also had to give more warmth, sharing, appreciation and fun when he wasnt sulking.

Knowing you have powerful means for improving your relationships helps you feel calmer and more on top of things, less stressed so that your own natural warmth and personality can come out. Which in itself does wonders for your relationships ... and your life. The Five Debt Triggers for Women

By B. Williams The average American is over $7,100 in debt (not including a mortgage) and three out of five families can't afford to pay off their credit cards each month. Still, as a culture we keep spending-on clothing, luxury cars, gourmet meals, electronics, CDs, you name it-and some would surely argue that spending is an integral part of being American (even President Bush asked Americans to keep spending as our patriotic duty after the September 11th attacks). But for the 17 million Americans who simply can't control how much they shop (that's more than one in 20 of us), this spending quickly turns from a pastime into a problem. And it's a problem that affects, overwhelmingly, women. About 90 percent of shopaholics are female. It's a powerful problem because, for women, shopping is not just about getting a new pair of jeans. It's an emotional experience, tied to feelings of pleasure, power, guilt and entitlement, that can drive an otherwise "together" woman into debt and even bankruptcy. Following are six of the more common triggers that can start you spiraling downward financially. Being aware of them, and whether they're happening to you (be honest!), is the first step to regaining, or keeping, your financial security. 1. "I Deserve It." Using Shopping as a Reward You're working hard, spending long days in the office or taking care of the kids, and you deserve something nice. But while a new pair of earrings here and there won't break the bank, you soon may find yourself wanting more extravagant items to reward your hard work. Instead of heading to the mall to make yourself feel good after a hard day's work, reward yourself with something that doesn't cost much at all: a walk outside, a long bubble bath, listening to music or reading that book you've been meaning to get to. 2. Depression, Sadness or Loneliness: "These New Shoes Will Make me Feel Better." If you're unhappy with your life-your work, your relationship, your family-or you've just had a fight with your best friend, you may be driven to shop. Buying something new makes you feel good, but the pleasure is fleeting so you must buy more and more just to feel normal. And you're able to justify your spending because, after all, you deserve to feel good, don't you? This cycle is similar to that of binge eating or gambling-it's a brief high that takes your mind off the real underlying problem. Some experts are so convinced that compulsive shopping is a type of mental illness that they're experimenting with antidepressants to treat the obsession. One Stanford study, led by psychiatrist Lorrin Koran, found that of 24 compulsive shoppers, 60 percent were helped by taking an antidepressant. Said Koran, "It meant they didn't turn on the shopping channel anymore It meant they could go to the mall and not buy things they didn't need. It was a tremendous relief." But rather than popping a pill, which could exchange one addiction for another, it seems the real solution is to address the reasons why you're sad, lonely, depressed, etc. in the first place. 3. Fear of Missing Out on a Great Deal: "This skirt was $750 Now it's Only $350!" Do you buy things just because they're on sale, or feel an overwhelming urge to go to your favorite store just in case you might miss a good deal? If so, bargains are a major spending trigger for you. If you go over your budget to buy something you don't need just because of a markdown, you're not really saving money. It's great to take advantage of specials on useful items you need or those occasional luxuries you were in the market for anyway. But even if those designer shoes you just noticed "used to cost $650 are half off" you're still spending $325! 4. Recreation: "If I Didn't go Shopping, I Don't Know What I'd Do." Shopping is a social activity and one that many women (and increasing numbers of men) enjoy. But if you find yourself spending money simply for a lack of something better to do, it's time to find a new pastime. Try something away from the shopping mall, like taking dance lessons, entertaining friends at home or taking up an outdoor hobby like biking or hiking. 5. Using Credit Cards to Live Beyond Your Means: "I'll Pay it Off Later." Rather than coming up with a monthly budget, many women, especially those in their 20s who've just gotten their first real job (and real paychecks), spend indiscriminately and use credit cards to make ends meet at the end of the month. This is easily rationalized when we know that "even though there's a big balance on my credit cards, I can just make the minimum monthly payments." This will catch up with you fast, though, and soon you'll have a looming credit balance that could take 10 years or more to pay off. Being aware of your personal spending triggers, and avoiding them, is one of the best ways to take control of your spending. It is worth remembering this principal: if you don't spend it now, you don't have to pay for it later! ---------------------- Sources

Natural Mineral Cosmetics: Flawless Dusting

By Sherry Frewerd The Product Virtually no allergy risk, natural mineral cosmetics allow skin to breath. Talc free, chemical free, and dye free natural cosmetics recommended by plastic surgeons and dermatologists, are created from powdered minerals. Their consistency and mineral content act together to calm the most sensitive skin. Over time mineral cosmetics actually improve your skin. Since your skin is allowed to breathe through the mineral foundation, no oily barrier preventing oxygen from reaching your skin, the texture and tone of your skin improve. Microscopic fibers fill up those tiny lines in your skin and give your complexion a natural healthy glow. The best part of natural cosmetics is their ability to add a youthful glow while protecting your skin from harmful solar rays. Consisting of mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxides, ultramarine, zinc oxide, mineral foundation is particularly well suited to use as a sunscreen. Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are both used in high quality sun blocks. These cancer fighting sun-blocking agents are both in most mineral make up products. Mineral cosmetics are ideal for anyone suffering from acne or post surgical skin procedures. In most instances acne improves after extended periods of using mineral make up because titanium dioxide does not promote the growth of bacteria as some cosmetics may. Due to the dry formula of mineral cosmetics, ingredients such as talc, dye, and perfume are not added. Therefore mineral cosmetics offer a chemical free option to popular cosmetic choices. 100 percent natural cosmetics provide excellent coverage, staying power, and creaseless beauty all day long. Natural anti-drying agents help to seal in moisture and prevent clogged pores. Mineral cosmetics dusted on liberally with special high quality brushes fill tiny lines and hide blemishes, leaving a soft healthy glow and sun protections. Because they dont have to be reapplied during the day, they reduce stress and increase the happy factor in your life. The Application Foundation gives your face a flawless silky glow that reflects health with fine texture and uniform color. A little goes a long way. It is always best to start your make up application with clean fresh skin. If you choose to use moisturizer, it must be fully absorbed before applying mineral cosmetics. To conceal any flaws: Lightly brush mineral foundation over any areas where flaws exist. Light layers cover better than one heavy layer; so go lightly. Mineral foundation should be applied to dry skin, moisture will make it cake and appear uneven on your skin. Using a brush to apply the foundation in circular motions results in flawless coverage. Blusher or bronzing powder should be applied as a highlighting accent to your face and completed with a finishing powder to set your make up. Eye shadow can be applied either wet or dry, using a shadow brush, apply lightly and add more as needed. A bit of bronzer is an excellent eye shadow choice for daytime wear. Using a light touch and the right brushes will help you achieve that dewy glow of youth and good health. These products are inexpensive and long lasting, making them an excellent choice for everyday cosmetic needs. Secrets to 'Controlling' Your Man

By Terry Hernon MacDonald Ben* has been happily married for 19 years. He recently told me the
prime reason he married his wife is because, "She was the only girl I
dated who could control me." I had no idea what he was talking about. I don't know many people, men or
women, who enjoy being controlled. "What do you mean?" I asked. "I dated a lot of girls, some of them pretty seriously. I was actually
close to being engaged to one of them, but I didn't go through
with it because she couldn't control me. But my wife Christine* could. If I wanted to go out with my friends,
she'd say, 'Have fun,' and that was it. It was such a change from the other girls I dated, who used to give me
a hard time, wanted to know where I was going and why they couldn't
come with me. I went out for a while with one girl who actually said,
'Okay, but now you owe me' when I wanted to go to a wrestling match with a
buddy. It was a major turn-off. But Christine couldn't care less. Whenever I told
her I wanted to go out without her, she'd just smile at me and say, 'Have
fun.'" "How exactly was that controlling you?" I asked. "You got what you
wanted." "Yeah," he said, "But as soon as I went out, I missed her. I knew she
wasn't sitting around waiting for me to call. I didn't know what she was
doing. And since she didn't give me grief about going out, I didn't feel
like I'd made prison break. I ended up wishing I was with her,
instead of with my friends." Lest you think this is sexist, put yourself in Ben's place:
Who would you be more attracted to? A guy who calls you three times a
day, makes demands on your time, and harasses you when you want
to go out with your friends? Or a guy who calls once a day (or a
couple of times a week), asks you what you'd like to do over the weekend,
and tells you to have fun when you want to go out with your
friends? Wouldn't you want to see the second guy more often? The lesson here is, if you want a relationship with somebody, you must give him
air. Give him his freedom. (It doesn't matter if you have nothing else to do
except pre-treat the meatball stains on your
blouse, keep it to yourself.) Smile and tell him to have a ball. Then let him wonder how you'll
spend your time off. Is it scary? Sure, it's scary! What if he meets another woman while he's
scarfing down nachos at the local tavern? Well,
what if he does? He's obviously not the right guy for you, and it's
better to know that sooner than later. But consider this: What if he goes out and notices the happy couples
and wishes he were with you instead of his friends? What if it dawns on
him that the unattached girls hanging out at the bar can't compare to
the woman he really wants (you!)? What if he spends the night thinking of you, missing you, wondering
what you're doing and who you're with? Thinking about what a breath of
fresh air you are, a woman who's secure enough to do her own thing and
give him some time on his own? What if? *Names have been changed. Terry Hernon MacDonald is the author of "How to Attract and Marry the Man of Your Dreams." Loan Insurance - Worth The Extra Cost?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Joseph_Kenny]Joseph Kenny There are many factors, out of your control that can make you unable to repay your loans. You might become sick or get involved in an accident that takes you out of work for an extended period of time. Maybe your employer has to cut back and make wage decreases or lay-offs. If you are working for your self then maybe business is not going well and you are not earning as much as you had hoped. It could even be that your expenses have risen or interest rates have risen and this has made it difficult to make repayments. Many of us worry about these possible outcomes. Some of us, especially if we have borrowed a lot and are already close to our repayment capacity may be losing sleep over it. People who are elderly and close to retirement, or those with young children also may worry a lot about such issues. Loan Insurance It is for this reason that insurers offer loan insurance. Loan insurance is a policy that protects against the possibility that you will not be able to make your repayments. You will usually be offered it every time you take on credit. You should know that you are not obliged to take loan insurance and you cannot be denied credit for not taking it. If you do wish to take it out, you should shop around and not take it from the first insurer you come across. Rates vary widely and it certainly pays to shop around. If you have loan insurance you can rest a little easier knowing that if certain events outside of your control occur you loans will be repaid by the insurance company. Events included would be illness, accident or job loss not of your fault, among others. You should also be aware of the conditions and exclusions however before you agree to such insurance. It is a fact that many people pay for loan insurance without much prospect of ever benefiting from it; often without even knowing they have it. This is because lenders are anxious to add it to your account as a way of increasing revenues. Be Aware Some policies will require for example that you accept the first job you are offered after losing your job. This can be very impractical for a person who may have had a very good job and now is offered a much lower paying one. They know that if they continue their search they will find a better job but their insurance wants them to take up the first one. Always be aware of what you are paying for with insurance. Be aware of the exclusions and if you dont want the insurance, dont buy it. If it has been added to your account without your permission, call your creditor and have it cancelled immediately. Planning Your Wedding

By Scott Morris Since the divorce rate is at an all time high many are asking when and if they should marry? It is interesting that at the beginning of the 20th Century men were in their late twenties before getting married. In the early part of 1960 half of all girls in the USA were married by their twentieth birthday. Males were about two years older. The 90's saw many getting married while still in their teen years. This no doubt accounts at least in-part for the high percentage of divorces. The national statistics reveal that teenage marriages are the most unstable with the highest chance of divorce. Many of them marry out of emotional impulse and pre-marital pregnancies which lead to a higher risk of divorce. At the present time those entering into wedlock are taking longer to decide about marriage. However, some are attempting a trial habitation to see if it might work. When are you ready for marriage and how do you know if proper preparation has been taken for a successful marriage? There is no absolutely guarantee for success... There are at least 3 areas to consider in determining if you are properly prepared for a life long commitment. Maturity You should be mature enough to take on the personal responsibilities of a family. Granted this may be some what subjective, but there are ways to measure the maturity level. If you are not sure what those responsibilities are, or even if you do know, it is advantageous to speak with someone who is well capable of addressing the responsibilities of a couple. Studies have indicated that the best age to enter marriage is early to mid-twenties. This is the age that most men are either out of school or have performed their military service to their country. Likewise the women are out of school by this age as well. At this particular time most have had their share of dating experiences and desire to begin the process of settling down. At the same time, however, chronological age is not necessarily proof that one is mature. Women seem to mature earlier than men, but that is not always the case. There are many factors in a persons background that either enhances their maturity or retard it. Therefore, each person has to be considered separatley. You should, however, evaluate not only your own life, but your potential partner as well. Do not leave the evaluation process up to someone else. You do the evaluating. You may want someone's advice, but you must have your eyes "wide open". What are you looking for in your evaluation? Start with the reasoning behind getting married. Why do you both want to be married? It is not enough to say that you love each other. Wouldn't you assume that most people who are now divorced would have said they loved each other in the beginning? Not all of course, but most "fall" in love and get married. Look deeper than the love aspect! Are there clues of immaturity such as: wanting to be out of the parent's authority; desiring a sexual relationship; escaping educational responsibilities; etc. These may be good reasons for marriage, but more often than not, they are poor reasons. The emotional aspect of love is very fickle. It comes and goes, so look for intellectual reasons for getting married. Do you both complement one another with your strengths and weaknesses? Do you both have the same type of objectives in life? Do you enjoy participating in similar events? Educational Have you both completed your education? This is a judgment call whether you should have it completed prior to marriage. It may be beneficial to have it completed so you are able to focus on your studies and extra-curricular activities. There also may be less resentment if both partners have their education completed. Many times the wife drops out of college to put her husband through school, then, she never gets back to her own educational goals. Once the dust settles (her husband is in his career, children are all in school) regret, anger, and resentment begin to knock on the wife's heart. Financial Not everyone is able to be financially independent at the time of marriage, but financial stability is a good place to begin a marriage. If you are deeply indebt or do not have a reliable occupation it may behoove you to postpone the ceremony a bit longer. Morris gathers information about wedding plans international dating club. Indoor Tanning Tips And Trends

By Chadder McD. The process where skin pigmentation is darkened due to exposure to the ultraviolet light rays is known as "Tanning". The tanning process of skin is generally of two types. One is immediate tanning and the other is delayed tanning. The immediate tanning is caused by the Ultraviolet A (UVA) radiation of sunlight which appears just a short time after the sunbathing and usually lasts only a few hours or days. The delayed tanning is the response to the Ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation of sunlight and usually appears 2-3 days after the sunbathing and lasts longer with the natural renewal of skin. The intensity of the tanning varies as it depends upon the type of skin. Indoor Tanning Process and Devices Indoor tanning has become very popular and just like regular tanning should include indoor tanning lotion. A clamshell like tanning bed is used as the tanning salon equipment in most of the tanning bed salons. Customers have to lie down on a plexiglass surface where the tanning bed lamps from above and below reach the customers body. The latest high tech tanning beds are called stand up tanning beds and don't require a person to lay down on plexiglass. Most of the older tanning devices used the light sources that emitted short wave Ultraviolet B rays. These UVB radiation actually caused a burning sensation, hence the need for tanning bed lotions. The salon owners began using the tanning beds that emit mostly long wave Ultraviolet A rays from the light sources as the UVB radiation has many harmful effects. The UVA rays cause less burning than the UVB rays. The harmful side effects of Tanning The indoor tanning is very much responsible for the damages of our skin because of the emitting of ultraviolet rays. When the skin produces an additional pigment to protect against burning from ultraviolet rays at that time the tanning occurs. Eye injury, skin rashes and even skin cancer might develop due to the overexposure to the UV rays. The ultra violet radiations from the sun and tanning bed lamps are most widely known to be responsible for skin cancer. UV rays have been known to even damage the immune system causing premature aging or wrinkling of the skin. Now a days public health experts and medical teams are warning people from the dangers of the ultraviolet rays of the sun and tanning bed lamps. The UVB ray is associated with sunburn and is considered a deeper penetrating ray. According to some scientists there may be an association between the UVA radiation and the malignant melanoma which is a very serious type of skin cancer of which case a health care provider may be needed. Indoor tanning lotion sales have been skyrocketing but with continual warnings from government health officials we could begin to see a trend to the more natural skin color look. The advancement of tanning bed lotions and tanning salon equipment in recent years has made indoor tanning a regular activity for many. You might want to consider the long term effects compared to the short term gains before attempting continual tanning for yourself. Many people use indoor tanning to better prepare their body for a vacation to a favorite hot spot. This is actually quite smart as it better prepares your body for the increased exposure and can avoid a sun burn that may ruin a perfectly good holiday. Submitted by Chad McDonald for people who want to try a tanning bed or have tanned way too much and now need a health care provider within their city. Bonsai Trees - Our Own Little Forest

By Bogdan-Andrei Voicu Bonsai trees have been grown in China and Japan for centuries. Buddhist priests were the ones that created them and, in some centuries time, everyone could enjoy the little trees. And, by little we mean little: a bonsai tree can live up to hundreds of years without being more than 1m high. By regularly cutting down the branches and by shortening the roots, the growing is stopped. More, by not providing the full required elements to grow, the trees remain little. Those really interested in Bonsai trees should know that this is a hobby that requires a lot of responsibility and time, because they are living trees, not some dead wood. Everyone should consider the fact that, especially during the growing period, there are some really important things to take care of. When it is only about a small collection of Bonsai, it is enough to just water the plants. The soil must be slightly moist most of the time. Leaves must be controlled from time to time, in order to prevent bugs and diseases. When this happens, you have to take the plant out from the tray. In the summer, during the growth period, they must be cut to keep their shape. In the winter, the Bonsai tree doesn't require some special care, but they should, still, be provided a free space outside, where they should not freeze. More, every few years, the plants need to be moved in bigger trays. These few lines might not show how important it is to take care of your Bonsai trees, but regular care is very important, including the holidays, when you might leave. In Europe and Northern America, Bonsai trees came in the early '70s. Since then, a lot of clubs, unions and associations appeared that organize a lot of activities: expositions, fairs, seminars and more. Being a member of a Bonsai Club is not the most important thing when growing Bonsai trees. The most important thing is to enjoy what you do and have fun while doing it. Bonsai Tree Care is the place to get started in your Bonsai quest: learn to create a Bonsai tree or find out how to choose a tree for someone else or even for you.
